“Giacomo Leopardi’s private journal, the Zibaldone (1817-1832), has never been seen as part of the wider European discussion on the so-called Homeric question. In this paper, I will show how Leopardi responds to current trends in Homeric scholarship, documents the state of the art, and re-elaborates these cultural tensions in his own way.”
